Where are you located?
We are in Crestwood - just outside of Louisville, Kentucky! Full address will be provided after booking.
Are you a working farm? Do you live here?
Yes! We operate a farm & nursery on the property - and it is our primary private residence. Please be respectful of this being our home! There will probably be various animals running about. Our “barn” cats are overly affectionate, the great pyrenees, Stormie, is in fact a true farm dog who spends her evenings watching over our flock of sheep and might be covered in dirt but will be so happy to greet you! We also have two rescue horses, Magnolia and Guy, who are pretty curious. There will also be free range chickens - please don’t allow your kiddos to chase them! Nothing is worse than getting attacked by a rooster protecting his hens - ha! Since the property is also home to our nursery business, we ask that you & your clients keep the driveways clear so that customers and contractors can get in and out easily. Utilize the yard for parking and make sure to tell clients to do the same!
Where am I allowed to shoot?
We ask that you keep to the area you reserved at booking. This ensures you’re not having to work around other photographers, as well as let’s us have our family space and privacy - there’s a LOT of pickup football games that happen in the backyard or out of town friends staying in the cottage and we want to make sure everyone has their own space! Photographers are expected to make sure their clients aren’t wandering or getting lost!
Can I do a promo shoot?
You are more than welcome to come out and tour the spaces to gauge lighting needs and space. Please email to set something up! Promo shoots must be booked just like a normal session.
FAQs
Can I rent the full property?
Yes! Please send an email prior so that I can double check scheduling.. This will also give us a chance to discuss your vision and make sure our property is the right fit.
Do you decorate seasonally?
II do! But I cannot guarantee what decorations will be up on any certain date since the majority of our seasonal styling is with natural materials, so it is highly weather dependent, but I generally try to have the pumpkins set up by Oct. 1st and then transition to Christmas early November.
Can I book the main house ?
The main house is available for content creation shoots / brand promos, etc. It is NOT available for family sessions or minis. Please contact us prior to booking for additional info!
What is the natural lighting like?
The main house is South facing, with the Garden Shed to the East. Please note that there is a tree line on the West side of the property which affects the typical golden hour since the sun sets behind it earlier than in other areas! The cottage has porches on the east and west which limit it’s natural light in the evenings.
